ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

ROLE SUMMARY

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?  

Based in New Taipei City, Taiwan the job holder will be responsible for:

  • Working with a dynamic and international team to support the business’ expansion of its FMC and New Category portfolio within complex regulatory frameworks
  • Acting as a trusted business partner to ensure all business activities are conducted in line with all applicable laws and regulations and meet the expectations set by the group’s internal corporate framework
  • Protecting the business from external challenges and maximising the interests of the company on all legal/regulatory matters
  • Managing the business’ contract management and third party engagement processes to ensure seamless commercial services
  • Ensuring the activities of the companies are performed in accordance with Company commitment to responsible commercial delivery and its internal compliance procedures

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Render top-notch legal services to all internal partners: Provide sound, timely and practical legal services, including robust legal risk assessment and advice to ensure decisions are made based on balancing commercial benefit versus legal risk, to all relevant internal partners with a view to supporting all business initiatives to pursue business opportunities and achieve commercial objectives

Recurring legal services include but not limited to:

  1. Rendering legal opinion, recommendation, and solution on all legal matters
  2. Reviewing and processing all types of contracts and legally important documents
  3. Educating all employees on the group’s compliance and legal controls

  • Management of external law firms: Optimal utilization of external legal resources by effectively managing the company’s external law firm within the planned budget

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

Experience Required

  • 3+-years of PQE (post qualification experience) as a practicing attorney providing commercial and/or compliance related legal services
  • Ideal candidate will have experience advising MNCs operating in North Asia, experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry also a plus

Advisory experience in regulated industries desirable
