BAT’s Digital Business Solution has an exciting opportunity for a Manager – Corporate Finance in Subang Jaya, Malaysia.

An exciting opportunity is available working in the Corporate Finance team for our APMEA South, APMEA South DRBU consists of AU, NZ, MY, ID, SOUTH PAC. Cluster and VN Cluster, this role sits within APME South CFOM which are the extended end market team sitting in GBS Centre in Malaysia.

The Corporate Finance Manager owns and handles the controllership activities primarily focus on Malaysia market as well as handling risks and controls to meet key End Market priorities. The role interacts with Corporate Finance Controller to ensure GBS strategic objectives of standardization, scalability and consolidation are met.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Preparation of KLSE reporting and statutory reporting following legal requirement for Malaysia entities
  • Support the preparation of PLC reporting, annual reports, AGM and board deck
  • Ensure a timely analysis, identification, communication and resolution of balance sheet account reconciliation issues to avoid frauds and potential monetary losses due to an inappropriate accounting practice
  • Coordinate the monthly accounting closing process with other shared service sub-functions as well as the end market to ensure an accurate disclosure of financial information to relevant collaborators
  • Support the preparation and delivery OTIF of the control navigator exercise to avoid any business disruption because of a control breakdown as well as any monetary loss
  • Support the preparation and delivery of the risk register assessment to anticipate and prevent a business interruption due to an unplanned realization of a mapped risk
  • Support SOX control activity and Governance agendas for the End Market
  • Support Control and Compliance Agenda for the End Market i.e.: Control Navigator, Internal Audit support
  • Coordinate the financial reporting and other requests i.e.: control walkthrough, testing and remediation with external auditors
  • Assist End Market in managing Financial Information to ensure accuracy of data and effective insights for business decisions
  • Project Management leading initiatives such as simplification/automation, standardization, etc. 
  • Leading a small team of corporate analysts

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • At least 7-9 years of progressive experience in a global FMCG or Corporate Finance environment
  • Understand the impact of the accounting processes and practices and any changes in accounting standards
  • Able to drive projects and process improvements and handle remote collaborators .
  • An ability to work with all levels within the organization & experience in managing senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English, both orally and in writing
  • Meticulous, analytical, proactive, and can work under pressure with minimum supervision
  • Knowledgeable in identifying risks and in implementing controls.
  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Accounting & Finance. Professional accountancy qualification i.e. CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA will be an added advantage
  • A detailed understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, specifically BI/BPC or SAP equivalent will be added advantage
