BATIS LOOKING FOR A MATERIAL PLANNING AND SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT PROCESS LEAD

ROLE SUMMARY

What are the key goals and expectations from this role?

As central to the Supply Network Planning (SNP) Centres of Excellence (CoE) this role:

  • Is the Product Owner for Supplier Management & Material Planning Processes and tools.
  • Drives a step change in Supplier Management & Supplier capabilities to drive coordinated processes, enabling digital transformation & control towers, value chains - to accelerate Supply Chain maturity & gain competitive advantage.
  • Drives continuous improvements (CI) for Supplier Management and related material planning processes- finding and prioritising features using AGILE (simplification, standardisation, automation, optimisation) methodology.
  • Operates under IWS (Integrated Work Systems) operating model, enables the relevant Supply Network (SN) Pillar agenda with the Regions to continuously build capabilities & enable fast design, alignment, and re-application of standard methodologies.
  • Drives process and system (KINAXIS/ECC) alignment to the global template.
  • Drives Multicategory Enterprise & ERP strategy for Supplier Management.
  • Support Multi-functional process and platform integration (Forecast to Stock, Procure to Pay).

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Supplier management and digital initiatives:

  • Product Owner for “Supplier Management” & “Material Planning” Processes - standards, tools, and capabilities as part of the overarching coordinated planning template.
  • Custodian of Global Templates for Material Planning & Supplier Management : SAP+KINAXIS, processes, critical metrics
  • Handles the enhancements, automation, reporting and analytics capabilities
  • Operates within right CI governance forums such as Focus Groups and Design Review Groups (DRGs)
  • Drive Multicategory Enterprise & ERP strategy
  • Handles SAP & KINAXIS Template Change Requests and Waivers in process.
  • Articulates the supplier management strategy and framework.
  • Analyse supplier management capability: find, design, and develop optimisation processes and tools that advance the framework.
  • Leads data integrity and quality improvements
  • Ensure all modifications to supplier management systems, tools and processes conform to relevant authorisations (example: legal and SOx regulations). Ensure these are accurately solutioned, assessed, governed, and detailed – prior to implementation.
  • Uses AGILE framework to priorities work.

IWS (Supply Network Pillar):

  • Define/drive mechanisms to check in process controls and compliance for supplier management DMS and Processes; includes root cause analysis and actions to drive standardisation and supply chain performance.
  • Support and take part in compliance and phased assessments to ensure processes, metrics and organisation follow integrated planning template model(s) and approach.

PEOPLE

  • Function as change agent and advocate standards that drive connected digital transformation and faster, simpler, and globally consistent end to end value chain networks.
  • Drives the development agenda in relevant governance (example: Focus Groups and DRGs), cascading upwards and downwards as part of a continuous improvement culture.
  • Pro-actively engage with Heads of Functions, to drive standardisation and improvements
  • Work closely with functional / regional change agents to ensure only valuable initiatives are delivered and constantly checking the product is of use to the business.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

ESSENTIAL

  • The role demands a strong basis in the Operations, SNO and digital transformation to deliver sustained improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement, AGILE and growth mindset passionate about optimising process, systems, data, and people capability to step up maturity and deliver on cost, cash, and service targets.
  • Requires a strong network and working relationships to drive strategic alignment and priorities.

Experience Required

  • Expert-level knowledge and experience of integrated supply planning processes, tools, and value stream management – proved within BAT or a similar external context.
  • 10+ years’ Supply Chain experience including significant supply planning / supply chain and process/ systems organisational change.
  • Business and results focused – plus proven proficiency in organisational change.
  • Effective collaboration through a matrix structure.
  • Experience of working across diverse cultures and working environments

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

1. Supply Network Design & E2E Integrated Planning

  • Highly IT, supply chain and business systems literate – including (but not limited to) SAP ECC, Kinaxis and Control Towers.
  • In depth (expert) understanding of integrated supply planning processes, value stream networks, people, and organisation structures – both above market and local.

2. Digital DNA: data analytics, insights, and platforms

  • Sophisticated level data literacy: understand the fundamentals of data management, the enterprise data platform (data lake) and harnessing these for business insight, advantage and data-driven decision making.

3. Continuous Improvement (CI) Attitude & Management

  • Growth mindset, driving to make sustained difference through standard methodology capability benchmarking and development.
  • Business agility attitude. Proficient in agile management frameworks andorganisational changet governance
  • Ability to transform sophisticated processes into simplified, and standardised solutions.
  • Analytical skills / logical problem solver with practical outlook leading to pragmatic proposals and decision making.

4. Leadership

  • Demonstrable capability, culture and awareness firmly entrenched into the BAT Values.

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • Minimum at graduate or equivalent experience calibre – preferably with a supply chain related major.
