JOB TITLE: Statutory Finance Manager

FUNCTION: Finance

LOCATION: Colombo, Sri Lanka

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The role entails analyzing both financial and non-financial data to extract insights and offer recommendations for potential opportunities or corrective measures. It's essential for the job holder to maintain process compliance to guarantee the completeness and accuracy of data from source systems, while also adhering to relevant policies, procedures, and accounting standards. Additionally, the job involves overseeing Treasury operations.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

• Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and reports, ensuring alignment with local entity requirements. Manage the entire process of statutory accounts preparation in accordance with governance and reporting schedules. Conduct thorough reviews of transactions to identify any issues affecting external reporting.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement efficiency enhancements where applicable.
• Monitor action plans and lead or support cross-functional teams involved in control navigator initiatives and risk management.
• Coordinate with Global Business Services (GBS) to ensure timely and complete delivery of information (OTIF).
• Handle monthly and quarterly reporting duties, including month-end activities.
• Ensure compliance with Sri Lanka/International Accounting Standards, Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) listing rules, and other governance obligations.
• Drive the transactional finance sub-function and corporate insurance within corporate finance, including oversight of Corporate Insurance.
• Coordinate annual and interim audits conducted by both external and internal auditors.
• Conduct periodic reviews of finance policies and procedures.
• Provide support to the Secretaries of the Company Audit Committee and the Board.
• Establish and maintain a robust control environment, including performing control checks.
• Manage internal stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Oversee Treasury operations, acting as the primary contact for banks and internal treasury teams.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

• Bachelor's degree holder with a professional accountancy qualification (CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) in progress or already qualified.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a global FMCG or similar fast-paced operational environment.
• Proficiency in relevant finance tools and systems, particularly HFM, BI, and BPC.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Familiarity with other functional areas such as operations and marketing would be advantageous.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Capable of handling large volumes of information and presenting it accurately and appropriately.
• Rational decision-making and problem-solving abilities are crucial.
• Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
