ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The role is responsible for leading the development and implementation of advanced analytical solutions and products. Leveraging your expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modelling, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex business problems and drive data-driven decision-making. You will mentor junior team members, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to the overall data science strategy of the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

• Lead the end-to-end development of analytical products, from data collection and preprocessing to model building and deployment.
• Apply sophisticated statistical techniques  to extract insights from large datasets and tackle sophisticated business problems.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and business partners, to define project requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Mentor junior data scientists, providing guidance on standard methodologies, code reviews, and skill development.
• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure for efficient data processing and model deployment.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to audiences through clear visualizations, presentations, and reports.
• Drive innovation by seeing opportunities to demonstrate data and analytics to improve business processes and drive critical initiatives.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience in data science, with a proven track record of developing and deploying analytical products in a business setting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
• Effective communication skills to explain sophisticated concepts to both technical and non-technical partners.
• Proven leadership skills, and drive projects to successful completion.
• Good attention to detail and a passion for continuous learning and professional development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, as well as experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, pyspark).
• Solid grasp of statistical techniques, and deep learning frameworks. (e.g., Databricks)
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
